GIS in Linux

on Saturday, June 05, 2004

Never think of it before. I just use ESRI product on Windows in normal work. But it is really amazing to found alot of possibilities to use geographic inforamtion system in Linux platform, even ArcExplorer, ArcIMS and ArcSDE. So great! But anyway i have to start to learn it. Unforunately, MySQL still in development of geodatabase extension. However, PostgreSQL is available to use with PostGIS and GRASS sofware, and luckily it is on the right track with OGC standard. RDBMS is still around for some more years, i think, 'till ODBMS popular.

It's look like i'm in the middle of nowhere. But let's try then!

Prague

What a beautiful city! it really fascinating. It is really differesnt from what I've ever though. Europe is not the same, it consist of very broad culture and tradition beside the varying language. But I found, Roman Catholic seem to influence very much all over Europe.
